In this project, we break the outdoor boundary of traditional gardens. Adopting oriental garden philosophies including borrowed scenery, blank space, shifting views with every step and the interplay of void and solid, it breaks the barrier between architecture and nature. Based on the functional layout of a restaurant, the space integrates green landscapes, water features and waterfalls to create an oriental artistic conception with singing birds, fragrant flowers and murmuring running water.
The design abandons redundant stacked classical motifs and reproduces the core verve of Chinese gardens with minimalist strokes. It optimizes spatial circulation, presenting scenic views at every turn. With staggered depths and the interplay of void and solid, it recreates the layered sense and ceremonial quality of traditional Chinese courtyards, where each step reveals a new scene and each view carries its own charm.
The material textures inherit the gentle temperament of natural garden construction. The texture of solid wood carries the oriental gentle charm, while matte stone mimics the steady aura of mountain rocks. Simplifying forms and retaining essence, the space avoids over-decoration and ostentation. It sheds restlessness and preserves an elegant, transparent oriental character.
Light and shadow serve as the finest brushstrokes of the Chinese-style space. Natural daylight pours into the interior, and soft ambient light spreads through lattice windows, casting dappled shadows on walls and floors that shift with time. Without deliberate carving, the static space gains dynamic poetic charm, keeping the hustle and bustle of the world outside this serene retrea
This design not only reproduces the visual aesthetics of Chinese gardens but also inherits the spiritual core of oriental lifestyle. It integrates the layout of embracing mountains and waters, the well-balanced scale of motion and stillness, and the implicit temperament of traditional gardens into the functional requirements of the space, balancing artistic conception and practical experience.
Amid the bustling city, it brings mountains and waters into the scene and enshrines elegance within the space. With a garden setting to inherit oriental charm, minimalist design continues the millennial grace.
